Unapenumbra — About us

Unapenumbra’s latest feature documentary, UNSEEN: THE ART LIFE OF DICK GODWIN, premiered at the St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF 2025). John Olivio (director/producer) and Julie Goebl (producer/editor) are the company’s principals.

In addition to producing, directing and editing UNSEEN, John has edited films for Academy Award-winning director Morgan Neville, writer/director Robert Gordon, world renowned William Eggleston's cult film STRANDED IN CANTON, National PBS Great Performances RESPECT YOURSELF: THE STAX RECORDS STORY, Cat Power’s “Lived in Bars” (a music video with 8.2M views on YouTube, as director of photography & editor), with work screened on National PBS, MTV, and at MoMA NY, SF, Guggenheim Bilboa, TIFF (Toronto Int'l Film Festival), IFFR (Int'l Film Festival Rotterdam), as 2nd Unit director of photography (16mm & super8mm segments) of Peabody Award-winning documentary HOXIE:THE FIRST STAND by director David Appleby, and as co-editor of Steven John Ross’s WINSLOW HOMER: SOCIETY and SOLITUDE.

Julie produced and co-edited UNSEEN, as well as many short films and commercials. Her background is in the public and nonprofit sector in development and process design- helping organizations refine their daily practices, as well as diversify and increase their revenue. Julie helped nonprofits and governmental agencies raise millions of dollars across the US and Canada.
